Hohner Clavinet D6

Contrary to popular belief, it was actually the Clavinet C that Stevie Wonder used on "Superstition".  Nevertheless, the Clavinet D6 was the most popular of the Clavinet lineup.  It has been featured on countless recordings and was very popular in 70's funk music.  Others have played the Clavinet in a more traditional style, such as Todd Rundgren's "A Dream Goes On Forever".

Ours has been somewhat restored, meaning we have replaced all the hammer tips, strings and yarn.  The procedure for doing the yarn is on clavinet.com and it was a severe pain in the neck!  In fact, the entire process from start to finish was pretty time-consuming and irritating, but worth it in the end.  I can remember trying to find the yarn in local stores, after I was told you could only buy it online.  I couldn't believe that one.  "It's just yarn", is what I kept telling myself.  How hard could it be to find?  Well, every fabric store and specialty store later, and many odd looks from old ladies, I found that they discontinued the type of yarn I needed and it had to be specific for the Clavinet.  So, I guess it wasn't fluff when they said it could only be obtained online...
